You will deal directly with customers and answer questions on everything from grilling to nutrition. Our highly skilled Meat Production Clerks are trained here to prepare the outstanding quality cuts that Safeway has built its reputation on. Become part of the team that offers our customers some of our best-selling products.
Here’s where you’ll be focusing:
- Following company procedures, standards and policies in all situations
- Greeting customers in a polite and friendly manner
- Providing superior customer service in line with Safeway’s programs
- Cutting and preparing meat products for display using knives and saws
- Stocking meat products on shelves and in showcases
- Building and maintaining merchandise displays in line with Safeway programs
- Using commercial power equipment safely
- Writing and preparing orders
- Receiving and rotating product
- Filling and maintaining product showcases
- Cleaning and sanitizing the work area
What you have to offer:
- Previous retail meat cutting experience is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of various cuts of meat is an asset; Safeway-specific training will be provided
- Ability to learn quickly
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Highly motivated and team oriented
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written form
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work in a safe and responsible manner
- Available to work flexible hours
- Evening and weekend availability is strongly encouraged
The salary range for this position is $18.25 - $21.00 We will consider factors such as your working location, work experience and skills as well as internal equity, and market conditions to ensure that you are paid fairly and competitively.
