As a Baker, you’ll bring your creativity, precision, and passion for food to life every day. You will play a key role in delivering an exceptional shopping experience by crafting fresh, high-quality baked goods that delight our customers. Reporting to the Bakery Manager, you will support day-to-day operations, ensure consistent product quality, and help maintain a welcoming and engaging in-store environment. 

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

 

Deliver an Exceptional Customer Experience

  • Provide friendly, professional, and attentive service to every customer (CARE).

  • Demonstrate strong product knowledge, including new items, weekly promotions, and seasonal offerings.

  • Support sales by actively promoting bakery products and upselling where appropriate.

  • Review and share customer feedback with the Bakery Manager to enhance service and product offerings.

  • Support and train junior team members.

  • Perform opening and closing duties as required.

  • Use Fresh Item Management (FIM) and Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO) systems to manage inventory, review order histories, conduct daily cycle counts, and maintain on-shelf availability.

 

Merchandising and Product Preparation

  • Merchandise and maintain bakery displays, ensuring attractive presentation and accurate signage.

  • Handle, process, and prepare customer bakery orders.

  • Maintain consistent quality control for all bakery products.

  • Bake and prepare doughs, batters, and pastries according to company standards.

  • Stock and rotate bakery items following planograms and freshness policies.

  • Assist with creating and maintaining promotional and seasonal displays.

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels by performing stock counts and receiving products in accordance with control procedures.

 

Regulatory Compliance and Company Standards

  • Follow all loss prevention and shrink reduction processes.

  • Report and address any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, adhering to health, safety, and food handling regulations.

  • Ensure full compliance with food safety standards, including temperature logs, sweep logs, and proper labeling and dating.

  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

What you have to offer:

  • Previous experience as a baker or in a food preparation environment preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and safety.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Comfortable with early morning, weekend, and holiday shifts as required.

  • Physically able to lift, push, or pull up to 20 kg as needed.
