The Receiver is responsible for carrying out the full range of duties of the position in a professional, responsible, accurate and timely fashion. The Receiver will deliver exceptional customer service, foster customer loyalty, fulfill customer needs, and actively contribute to an environment of employee and customer engagement by adhering to food safety and health safety polices and procedures as well as ensuring proper invoicing and inventory levels.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

  • Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures
  • Keep work area clean, safe, and presentable at all times
  • Maintain professional and collabrative relationships with vendors, drivers, and co-workers
  • Use appropriate computer applications and invoicing programs, ensuring invoice data is inputted and that inventory is updated
  • Verifying accuracy of received product and making corrections as necessary 
  • Ensure accurate verification of temperature sensitive product
  • Ensure daily invoices are entered and finalized correctly and safety checks have been completed, and recorded properly
  • Ensure waste is processed correctly daily
  • Training in other areas of the department such as file maintenance and systems, as required
     

What you have to offer:

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Above average communication skills (oral and written)
  • Demonstrated initiative and motivation with a commitment to teamwork
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • An ability to understand and implement Store Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Previous experience working in a grocery store environment is considered an asset
  • May be required to lift up to 20lbs, stand for long periods of time, and complete physical work including but not limited to bending, lifting, and reaching
  • Power jack certification or the ability to become certified
