The Front End & Systems Teammate ensures accurate inventory flow and efficient backroom operations while supporting food safety, system integrity, and exceptional customer service to maintain a smooth, organized, and customer‑focused store environment.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

  • Adhere Receive orders both direct store delivery (DSD) and retail support center (RSC)
  • Handle items in the backroom and ensure the shipments checked in, coordinate with other backroom employees and manage process for effective hand-offs
  • Completes staging in the back room. Store, organize, and catalog shipments in the backroom, coolers, freezers correctly
  • Review DSD invoices to guarantee orders are correct and contact suppliers to resolve issues, process credits for warehouse items
  • Operate handheld devices (RF Gun/Zebra/Next Gen Tech) and back room equipment, including pallet jack, scissor lift, baler, and compactor
  • Make bales using the bailer and manage composting program
  • Complete PI processes in FIM and CAO included cycle counts, spot checks, and attribute adjustments
  • Ensure and maintain data integrity across all inventory systems
  • Create inventory count reports and maintain inventory records to share with management, report discrepancies in inventory that may indicate theft or other issues
  • Partner with managers and team leaders to investigate inventory issues (outs and excess, systems issues/follow ups for pick list items)
  • Update and validate pick lists to ensure accuracy
  • Maintain cold chain and food safety of shipments and inventory (i.e., checking
    temperatures)
  • Engage with customers following CARE program
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary working environment in accordance with cleanliness and safety standards and prepare for upcoming shifts

What you have to offer:

  • Effective communication, customer service, and supplier relationship skills

  • Quality judgement/decision making skills
  • Familiarity with total store products, services, and layout
  • Basic math skills for calculating quantities, weighing product, determining inventory levels and cash counting
  • Knowledge of company inventory software (FIM & CAO)
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks, stacker forklifts, and baler
  • Ability to read planograms and flowagrams
  • Understanding of food safety and handling
  • Physical ability to lift more upto 50lbs lbs, to stand for extended periods of time, bend, climb, balance, kneel, and frequently push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Secondary (high) school education/GED or currently enrolled
  • Must be 18 years or older 

 

Sobeys  and its franchise partners offer teammates competitive compensation packages that will vary by role, location and store ownership. The salary range for this position $17.60 - $17.60.
