Located in Stellarton, Nova Scotia on Canada’s East Coast, Big 8 Beverages has been providing high-quality water and soft drinks to our customers since 1986. Our Big 8 Spring Water comes from a pristine underwater aquifer located in Valley, Nova Scotia providing pure and clean tasting water.

Our state-of-the-art 48,000 square foot manufacturing facility allows ample warehousing to ensure that our most popular beverages are in stock and ready to ship. Our facility is SQF certified and we follow the CBWA protocol for water standards. We are also a leader in Extended Producer Responsibility Initiatives.  

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

  • Maintain Preventative Maintenance Program as per Safety and SQF requirements
  • Maintain Building Maintenance Program as per Safety and SQF requirements
  • Implement and maintain a parts management system
  • Create workorders and assign to staff where required
  • Work with equipment suppliers to obtain required parts and services
  • Create an annual budget for maintenance.
  •  Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset life
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine work procedures
  • Install, align, dismantle, and relocate industrial machinery and equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and implement effective solutions
  • Maintain and troubleshoot power transmission systems and programmable logic controls (PLCs)
  • Operate tools and equipment including hoists, cranes, lathes, grinders, and welding equipment
  • Fabricate parts as required to support maintenance and equipment modifications
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on machinery and systems
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize production disruptions
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and food safety standards

What you have to offer:

  • 10+ years of experience operating and maintaining blow molding, production, and packaging equipment
  • Holder of Nova Scotia Power Engineer Licence (minimum R2 – Refrigeration Plant Operator, Second Class)
  • Experience in water treatment systems, including beverage-grade water quality management
  • Red Seal Certified Millwright
