As a Shunter (AM), you will play a key role in supporting our Voilà delivery operations by ensuring our fleet is safely moved, organized, and ready for daily routes. You will be responsible for maintaining an efficient yard, completing vehicle inspections, preparing vans for delivery, and working closely with our fleet, warehouse, and delivery teams to help ensure a seamless customer experience.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in safety and organization, and is comfortable working outdoors as part of a collaborative team.
Schedule: Sunday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday
Hours: 3:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Here’s where you’ll be focusing:
- Safely operate and maneuver delivery vans within the yard to support daily delivery operations.
- Complete vehicle inspections, including damage checks, fuel levels, temperature checks, mileage tracking, and reporting any concerns.
- Organize and position vans efficiently to ensure vehicles are available for loading and route departures.
- Coordinate vehicle movements with warehouse and delivery teams using proper communication equipment.
- Load and unload grocery frames and assist with preparing vehicles for delivery routes.
- Support fleet operations by moving vehicles to maintenance appointments and assisting with van wash coordination.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, including cleaning cargo areas and cab interiors.
- Perform minor vehicle upkeep and report maintenance requirements.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized yard, including supporting seasonal activities such as winter snow removal operations.
- Ensure delivery teammates have all required vehicle assets and equipment before departing on routes.
- Support additional operational tasks as required to meet business needs.
What you have to offer:
- Valid Class G Ontario Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Minimum 1 year of fleet shunt truck experience preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is an asset.
- Ability to effectively submit and receive information using proper communication equipment (radio).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
