Voilà is a new team dedicated to launching and scaling Sobeys new e-commerce grocery home delivery business. This is a rare opportunity to join a start-up within a larger organization. Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

Key Business Functions, Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Acts as the customer facing ambassador of Voilà banner.
  • Provide exemplary customer service to our home delivery e-commerce customers – create a home delivery experience for each customer through high-touch interaction in each home.
  • Deliver to each customer in a professional, courteous and engaging manner as per Voilà customer service standards.
  • Empowered to solve customer issues in-home; assess each situation and deploys appropriate measure partnering with Delivery Supervisor and Customer Service team.
  • Delivering groceries to our customers in timed delivery slots. Includes delivering groceries to various property types such as high-rise buildings, basement flats and remote locations.
  • Maintaining timely communication with our customers, to keep them informed of issues or changes to their proposed delivery.
  • Escalates any customer concerns appropriately. 
  • Makes order adjustments at point of delivery as per system and customer service requirements.
  • Is flexible in completing /adjusting to work assignments based on customer requests and meeting daily delivery schedules.
  • Protects company vehicle by conducting daily and required vehicle circle checks, maintaining fuel levels, and following maintenance and reporting procedures.
  • Immediately reports any deficiencies or damage.
  • Operates company vehicles in various road conditions in a safe and responsible manner and ensures the vehicle is clean, tidy and well cared for. 
  • Operates the vehicle under control at all times in accordance with the company safety policies and procedures and highway rules and regulations. 
  • Ensures product is properly loaded in the assigned vehicle.
  • Food Safety

What you have to offer:

  • You have experience in providing excellent customer service.
  • You have a G-class license with at least 6 months of validity and enjoy driving.
  • Clean drivers abstract
  • You are able to comfortably lift up to and including 50 lbs (25 kilos) at a time (repeatedly throughout the shift) with the consideration that you may need to navigate stairs.
  • You are comfortable driving in urban, suburban and rural areas using highways, main roads, side streets and country roads.
  • You are confident driving in daytime and nighttime conditions, and in inclement weather.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and possibly holidays, as delivery operations run 7 days/week
  • Must be able to lift up to 6 feet high (reaching above head)

Working Conditions

  • Company uniform will be provided
  • Paid training during first week of hire from Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM
  • Home-delivery environment: you’ll drive a company-assigned vehicle and deliver door-to-door.
  • May involve early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and variable shifts.
  • Work includes physical activity: lifting, carrying, climbing stairs, sometimes in adverse weather or inclement conditions.
